Spell Simple is a spelling-practice app for children, used at home by families and in classrooms by teachers. We built it to collect as little personal information as possible. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do.
Spell Simple is operated by AI-Upgrade.me. For any privacy question or to have data deleted, email [email protected].
We do not collect location, contacts, photos, phone numbers, device advertising identifiers, or any child's email address.
Spell Simple has no advertising, no third-party advertising SDKs, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not use children's data for any advertising.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers only to run the app:
Spell Simple is intended for children and is designed to be compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). A parent or teacher creates the account and provides the only email address involved. We collect only the limited information described above, solely to run the app, and we do not use it for advertising or sell it. A parent or teacher can review or delete their account's data at any time by emailing us.
You can permanently delete your account and all of its spellers' progress at any time, in two ways:
We keep an account's data only while the account is in use; once deleted, the account, its email address, its spellers' names, and all practice data are erased and not retained.
You do not have to close the whole account to remove a child's information. On the speller-selection screen, press the 🗑️ (trash) button on a speller's card and confirm. That erases that child only — their name, their practice history, their words-to-work-on list and their accuracy and time records — while the account, its email address and every other speller stay exactly as they are. The change is saved to our servers with the account's next cloud save (within a few minutes, or immediately when you close the app), and it cannot be undone.
You can also ask us to remove a single speller by writing to [email protected] from the address on the account, telling us which speller to delete.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
